The Golden Years

“If these are the golden years you can have them.”
How many times have I heard that phrase while seeing a patient in the Emergency Department? It’s a common theme: a person works hard most of their life, sacrifices, gets a nice nest egg going for retirement, then gets to the point where they’re going to “start enjoying life” and things start falling apart. They may already have high blood pressure by that time, or diabetes, or be overweight to the point where it gets difficult to get around let alone start an exercise program.
Something finally throws them over the edge–maybe they develop a heart condition, or have a seemingly insignificant fall and break a hip. That’s when I end up seeing them in the ER and hear those words about “The Golden Years” uttered. At that point I can only help “fix” them so much; much of the damage has been done. The BodyLogicMD practice allows me to do better. I can try and prevent chronic health conditions from ever occurring. I can help people move gracefully and energetically through the years. I can hopefully help make those “Golden Years” exactly what they should be: a period to enjoy life to it’s fullest.

The Boca Experience

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of traveling to Boca Raton, Florida to spend some time at the BodyLogicMD corporate headquarters. This was part of the training process that all new BodyLogicMD physicians go through. Not knowing entirely what to expect, I must say that I was thoroughly impressed! The staff was knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. What stood out most to me, though, was that everybody was happy and seemed to enjoy working there. I have my own Anti-Aging practice in Northern California (something I’ll address in another blog) and the BodyLogicMD group looks like it will give me exactly what I’ve been looking for–the ability to see and spend time with patients along with the support of an incredible network of physicians and an unparalleled support staff.
Looking forward to seeing you in Sac!
